Meet Our Staff

Amanda Thompson is Amy Mucha’s younger sister. She started dancing when she was about 2 and has been dancing and tumbling ever since.   Dancing is her passion.   She has danced competitively for 17 years and has attended many work shops and conventions to continue to enhance her dancing skills.  For her 4 years at Smithson Valley High School, she was on the dance team and an officer for the last two years.  After high school graduation, Amanda auditioned for the University of the Incarnate Word dance team.  She made the team and danced with them until she graduated in 2014.

Starting as an assistant teacher helped  inspire Amanda's future career.  Her dream is to become a dance therapist and allow children and adults with disabilities to express themselves through the art of dance.  Her major will be partially in education and partially in communication skills so that she will be able to teach them.  This year she is taking sign language.

Amanda loves working with children and teaching them to dance.  Her belief is that dancing has made her a better and stronger person.  She dances every chance she gets.

The oldest of three girls, Danielle Martinez has grown up around rhinestones and imagination, so the arts are the perfect place for her. She is currently an Honor student at Texas State University in San Marcos, pursuing a BFA in Theatre.

She started dancing in Kindergarten with an after-school dance program at St. Monica's Catholic School. However, at the age of nine, she started taking studio classes when she transitioned into the homeschool world. After a few years, she began assistant teaching under the direction of Ms. Amy and began teaching when she was 15.

She has been a member of the Amy's All Star staff since the studio's opening in 2003. She has worked with ages 3-Adult in Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Acrobatics,  and Contemporary/Lyrical. She was a member of the Rising Stars competition team for many years, in addition to choreographing for the team as well. She has danced at numerous community events,  NBA and WNBA games, and even at Walt Disney World.

When Danielle is not at school or at the dance studio, she is choreographing at the Cameo Theatre in downtown San Antonio, where she is the Resident Choreographer for Jonathan Pennington Studios.

.

Anna Martinez has been dancing for fifteen years throughout San Antonio and surrounding areas. Ten of those years were spent on Amy’s All Star Dance Studio’s resident competition team, the Rising Stars. She has won several awards with her company in solo, duet, trio and group divisions.

Being on the competition team taught her the importance of team work, commitment, and gave her a chance to grow as a performer at such a young age. Through dance, Anna has gained many great experiences such as performing for the San Antonio Spurs, Silver Stars, and Rampage half-time shows and her favorite, performing at Walt Disney World’s Magic Music Days 2010. When she’s not dancing, you can find her on stage, as she is very active in musical theatre.

After, graduating in 2016 Anna has continued her training and love of performing in college, where she plans to work towards a BFA in Musical Theatre and a minor in Education. Anna has been on teaching faculty at Amy’s All Star Dance Studio for 3 years, and before that was an assistant teacher for over 4 years! She is so excited to bring her love and appreciation of dance to your children in a fun, safe and encouraging way at Amy’s All Star Dance Studio!

Ms. Claudia
Claudia Martinez is so very excited to be teaching here at Amy’s All Star Dance Studio! Claudia has been dancing since she was 2 years old where she started in class with Ms. Amy. She has been assisting dance for 8 years, and teaching for 4 years, and has loved every minute of it.  Through the years, Claudia has taught ages 2-12 years old in tap, ballet, jazz, as well as musical theatre. Aside from dance, Claudia has performed in numerous theatre productions in the San Antonio and New Braunfels areas in the past 7 years and looks forward to every chance she has to tell a story on stage. She is also active in her church community, and can be found singing with the choir during Sunday services. Claudia is currently attending Northeast Lakeview college and will receive an Associate of Arts in Teaching in the Spring of 2021 and plans to transfer to a university to receive her degree in teaching in the Fall.  Claudia’s passion for teaching has sprung from helping her students see how wonderful dance can be, and cannot wait to share her love of dance with her students here at Amy’s All Star Dance Studio!
